But the piece excels at the way basic techniques are applied to create a superior final product. The photographer captured the subject not during movement but at the very edge of movement, in that split second before an action is about to occur. Suddenly a straight forward picture becomes a deep, almost meditative view of an animal succumbing to instinct. This is an eagle getting ready to move.
While it might not be a surreal, special vision, it showcases the talent and skill required to take wildlife photos and elevate them to a higher art. Excellent work.
I love the eyes, it's giving a sharp and undeceived eyes. always targeting into his prey. love the color too, with natural sepia that nature gave to us. the yellow also pop-ed to give very nice detail in picture the bokeh on background is also beautiful and very nice, makes The Eagle standout properly.
thanks to Canon L Lenses series, the image is really sharp and brought many detail, specially in Eagle's Eyes. and the color reproduction is very nice and pleasing to see. this is very nice example of the performance on Canon L Lens Series for people who want to think buy this kind of lenses.
but unfortunately, for me, the feather on back is giving unnatural blur... better makes it sharp rather than blurred like that. maybe due the sensor, Foveon X3 will give different blur effect. but at the end is depend on everybody think right?!
conclusion: this is a interesting photo. some people found it very nice, but some people found it standard. but for me, it's a nice animal photo. because for us who just "point and shoot" photographer will found a something, that to capture this "MOMENT" is not simple as people think.
